Senior Community Service Employment Program (Host Agency) for Tennessee Residents

We provide job skills training and instruction services to those seniors who for different circumstances find themselves entering the workforce again after a period of unemployment. Training is provided 20 hours per week in the following job skills: customer service, pricing merchandise, stocking merchandise, and general janitorial. Services are provided under Host Agency Agreement as part of the program held by First Tennessee Human Resource Agency.

We provide job skills training and instruction services to those seniors, 55 years of age or older, who for different circumstances find themselves entering the work force again after a period of unemployment. This is a paid training experience at 20 hours per week.  Training is provided a variety of community positions including: Social Service non-profits, Schools, Libraries, Daycare and Senior Centers, Government agencies, Healthcare Centers, and Goodwill retail outlets.

      Goodwill® proudly participates in the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), a national employment and training program funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. A $22,836,313 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor provided 90 percent of the funding for Goodwill’s SCSEP programs in the program year 2023. Goodwills provided the remaining 10 percent through in-kind contributions worth more than $2,537,378.

      Goodwill Industries of Tenneva Area, Inc. received a sub-award in the amount of $519,136. The sub-grantor reserves the right to increase the total amount of funds awarded to the sub-grantee if more funds become available. The sub-grantee agrees to provide the sub-grantor $60,337 of in-kind or cash contributions or a combination of the two.
