Community Volunteers
Community Volunteers assist Goodwill Industries of Tenneva Area, Inc. and its local government, business, and industry partners by completing service hours that expand opportunities for professional development. Participants build career networks through experiences that reflect Goodwill’s belief in the ethical stewardship of community resources. Community Volunteers are recruited from Goodwill Tenneva’s service area to assist with special events, community action initiatives, and emergency response and relief efforts.
Eligibility
Community Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and must meet any additional qualifications for volunteer service specific to a Goodwill sponsored and/or a community partner sponsored event. Participant background checks are required for placements extending beyond eight (8) hours of service. Available community placements may be limited and may require a pre-registration period to reach volunteer capacity.
Accountability
While completing service hours, Community Volunteers must follow all policies and procedures of Goodwill Industries of Tenneva, Inc. and all policies and procedures of the partnering community agency. This includes Goodwill’s Code of Ethics and Accountability, as well as the completion of any required release forms or background checks.
Fundamentals
Community Volunteers may review Goodwill 101, an integrative learning module that relates Goodwill’s history and mission services.
